Do you get as excited as I do when waiting for a book to arrive in the mail?
Last week I had the fun of surfing goodreads on a mission to choose which books I want to read next. 'Cause, you know, it's summer, and even though three books have to be read for school I definitely need some new books to devour.
In five days I'll be in Paris and I'll be able to visit the American Library of Paris to check out a few books to read until I return to Lyon.
But what happens after that? WHICH BOOKS WILL I READ?
You see, when you love reading like I do you think ahead to these types of situations.
Even if I don't get back from Paris until two weeks from now I've made plans for what I'm going to read next because I just know I'm going to need a book. And there have been several times where I've had nothing to read. Nothing.
Do you realize how horrible it is when that happens? Can you even begin to imagine? No books. No articles in The New Yorker. Not even a measly horoscope!
In those moments, I suffered. Oh, how I suffered.
Which is why I ordered these books:
1)
Confessions of an Angry Girl by Louise Rozett |
2)
3)
Apart from Seeds of Yesterday (which I've been wanting to order for a while) the books I've ordered are girly and fun. When summer comes around I start craving uncomplicated girly books. It matches my mood.
These books should be coming any day now and I'm super excited!!!
What types of books do you like reading in the summer? Have you read any of these books? What will you be reading?
P.S: Creds to Dr.Seuss for the title of this post :)
What a great post. Admittedly, reading isn't much of a pass time for me right now because during the school year reading is my homework (I'm an English major at my university). But I do want to read Defiant Daughters and Red Ruby Heart in a Cold Blue Sea. I also understand about wanting some light, uncomplicated reading material when school is out.
ReplyDeleteYour studies sound so interesting and very much what I'm oriented towards :)
Deleteand thanks for reminding me of defiant daughters! I saw it not long ago featured on another blog and I forgot to order it... I'm going to order it right now!
I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I wouldn't be able to read (in this case blogs loads and loads of blogs)! I think uncomplicated girl stuff is ideal for summer!

Me too... if I weren't able to read, I- I... I think I might die!
DeleteGood for you for reading so much! I just finished Life Code by Dr. Phil McGraw good tips fro avoiding people who take advantage of you. I tend to watch more movies in the summer when its too hot to do much of anything. We just saw Salmon Fishing in the Yemen a wonderful British movie. Have a great time in Paris.
ReplyDeleteI watch lots of movies in the summer too, especially around three p.m, with the fan blowing on me and a big glass of lemonade or ice tea :)
DeleteThanks for the movie suggestion! I will look it up.
That is really good that you like to read so much ! i used to love reading in middle school, but ever since high school, I seem tohave lost my drive to read. I think it is because we have to do so much of it in high school! (Especially in history which I fall asleep in hehe)
ReplyDeleteI wanted to write this here in case you don't see it on my blog, but purchasing your own domain isn't hard and worth it if you are serious about blogging!
purchasing your own domain is so worth it! it's a little complicated tech wise, but they have a live person coach you through it if you need. And it's pretty cheap too! I got mine for less than 10 dollars a year! =) (I think it was 8.99 for a whole year which is like 75 cents per month!)

Thanks! And wow, that is MUCH cheaper than I thought it would be!
