What the fudge is this?

There are so many beautiful, wonderful, amazing things in the world, so, my question is... Why this?
See this picture? See the number of people out there on my street?
Manifestation

Well, they are protesting. They are making a big ruckus, and a LOT of noise.
Why?
They are protesting against gay marriage and adoption.

What is the matter with people?! Where is the world going?
If you are gay, you're born like that and you should have the same rights as everyone else! How can these people try to deny gay people the right to have a child, or to get married? Any of those people out there, protesting against justice and human rights, could have been gay, or even their children. Then how would they have felt?
Even someone I respect, a very nice, correct and polite person, admitted to wanting to go out there and protest as well. People can be so disapointing!

Going to bed disappointed in humanity tonight :(

  2. I read that the protests got violent. So it's probably good that you didn't fling poop at them, as I suggested to your mom. Even though I would really have wanted to!

    1. That would have been extremely amusing. Too bad cops were right underneath.

  3. That's just horrible! I mean, what if somebody told you that you're not allowed to do what you loved just because you're not British or something? It's like expressing who you are I don't get how anyone could try to take away a part of you. >.<

    1. Hi Eileen, it's nice to hear from you, I'm thrilled you stopped by, because I love your blog.
      And yes, it's pure cruelty!!!

  4. As Martin Luther King said, the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice. Knowing that this kind of hate and bigotry exists is depressing, but I always take comfort in the fact that the views the protesters hold are increasingly in the minority.

  5. Hi C, I'm just catching up on the blog. The moving process has been very hectic--as you will soon find out. Z and I like the condo but we still have way too much stuff. I make a storage unit run every day which is good for the muscles, but exhausting. Thanks for the positive thoughts about gay marriage and adoption. For my two cents worth, marriage is overrated, not a very good institution. Still if folks want to get married they should be able to. Also I don't think I was born a lesbian, instead I chose it. So maybe I was born bi-sexual (who knows), but I know it was a conscious decision to make my life with a woman not a man. Aunt Margi

  6. I find that people who hate are usually uneducated. They miss out on knowing some very fine, and fun people. Lucky to know tolerance.
